MD&M West 2025: At the Core of Advanced Production

At RexMed Health, innovation goes far beyond a trend; it’s the engine that drives us. Our dedication to producing high-quality medical device contracts is a clear example of this. As industry leaders, we value a direct connection with healthcare professionals, engineers, and supply chain executives.

As a centerpiece of our agenda, we attended MD&M West 2025 (formerly IME West) in Anaheim, California. This summit is recognized as the most important gathering for the medical device and advanced manufacturing sectors in the U.S.

MD&M West brings together the complete value chain, covering everything from design and engineering. The event integrates sectors like WestPack, Automation, Design & Manufacturing, and Plastics. This methodology reveals the full scope of solutions RexMed employs in its medical product development.

MD&M West: Finding solutions for critical challenges

We established an essential presence at Booth #4167, successfully engaging with numerous industry leaders. This allowed us to directly interact with thousands of key professionals—engineers, executives, and buyers—from various fields, broadening our cross-sector visibility.

Furthermore, we provided a compelling demonstration of how our manufacturing proficiency is precisely tailored to meet the demands of next-generation medical devices. Undoubtedly, for a contract partner like us at RexMed, this direct access is invaluable.

We affirm this because these types of encounters move conversations beyond specifications and directly toward problem-solving. In fact, we dedicated time to discussing complex topics such as miniaturization, high-volume component quality assurance, and regulatory documentation (including FDA and ISO 13485).

The Power of the Encounter

The atmosphere at MD&M West reinforced the spirit of collaboration that RexMed promotes. The value of the summit lies precisely in the physical connection. Key benefits of this direct interaction include:

  • A unique opportunity to evaluate evolving materials and market trends.
  • Establishing contacts and engaging with competitors, clients, and industry experts.

The most valuable element is the interactions we develop. As one attendee pointed out, it is the ability to see physical products and say, “That looks really similar to what I need; let me go talk to them.” Our participation reaffirms our commitment to innovation in the medical system in North America.

Key takeaways from the MD&M West Floor

We maximized the valuable time at the Anaheim Convention Center. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity we had to dive into various critical themes. Likewise, we focus on the themes that currently mold and reshape the future of MedTech manufacturing.

Our team focused its efforts on demonstrating how advanced automation integrates with materials science to identify and eliminate various production constraints. These restrictions prevent manufacturers from efficiently producing medical devices.

Materials science and biocompatibility

We also dedicated a significant portion of our time at the convention to exploring the next generation of materials. We reviewed the following most prominent innovations:

  • Advanced polymer formulation. The new generation of plastics offers superior wear resistance for long-term implants.
  • Surface modification technologies. The emergence of innovative techniques enhances biocompatibility and reduces friction in catheter and delivery systems.

We explained to attendees that as devices become smaller, they are integrated more deeply into the human body. We emphasized that in these cases, materials science plays a primordial role.

Automation and efficiency in assembly

During our exhibit, we emphasized the importance of transitioning to highly flexible automation cells. Our conversations with automation leaders emphasized the following points:

  • Robotics for clean room environments: This technology guarantees our team sterile, high-speed assembly for complex devices.
  • Predictive maintenance: By implementing intelligent systems that reduce unplanned downtime, we ensure that we meet our clients’ production schedules.

We explained how these technologies directly impact contract manufacturing, allowing us to manage diverse product lines more efficiently.

RexMed: Prepared for tomorrow

Attending MD&M West provides us with the critical insights we need to keep our manufacturing infrastructure at the forefront of innovation. We use these learnings to update our processes continually. This way, we ensure our clients’ next-generation designs meet all necessary regulations and specifications.
